We have "factions" on the server. This makes it so doors can be closed and can not be opened except by faction members.Please help me understand several things... 1) Why is it considered acceptable behavior for someone with the donator, VIP, Builder and other such badges to bypass "faction" protections? 2) Why is it considered acceptable for someone who is NOT a staffer to "check up" on people by teleporting to someone's location without cause? 3) I consider TP'ing to someone's location without an invite to be unacceptably rude. However, when I comment on the rude behavior, I am told to not discuss this over chat, to not be "rude". So how is it TP'ing to someone's faction base they are working on is not considered rude, but complaining about it is? I have been smacked off the server tonight for "arguing in chat". I've been told to complain about it here in the forum. This is a very nice place to complain where nobody can hear me and safely ignore how I feel about having my privacy and sense of space violated. 4) Is there any consideration... any at all... for the fact that I might not be doing anything wrong... that maybe I want to keep what I am working on away from prying eyes until I can secure my faction base and mine around my faction base... or maybe I'm working with lava in tight areas, or under water, and that "checking up" on me might be the distraction that not only kills me but has me lose my tools in the lava I am working on... is ANY of that any consideration for maybe not surprising me by TP'ing to my location uninvited? 5) I have already once set up a faction base in the wilderness twice before. The first time I was "jumped" by griefers and killed. I didn't have the "no PVP" flag set right and I was upset having my animals slaughtered. The second time, I had the PVP flag set OFF, but I would still log in to find my animals slaughtered, and I was largely unsure if asking for staff to recover them would get a response beyond a shrug. I am still not clear to what extent someone with special privileges would then pass information to their non-privileged friends to have them mine out the area around my faction base. As it is, I've already seen tunnels I didn't create. This is my point-of-view. This is why I am hyper-sensitive about people with special privileges TP'ing to my location without asking. I would like some time to secure my faction base and get to mine around it, at least a little, before everyone ELSE swoops in and simply takes what they want of the area I've found. Is that too much to ask? 6) I have a job, I have money. I have considered getting a +donator badge because if I am enjoying the server, I should contribute towards keeping it going. But I wanted the challenge of not being able to use anything but what everyone ELSE has at the bottom level and making something cool. That part I can enjoy, and I feel is worth putting money on. Having people drop in uninvited strips me of that enjoyment. Having "friends" strip the area around my faction base of anything that pleases them strips me of that enjoyment. Is the entire point of having special privilege badges is to make it trivial to strip other people their enjoyment of the server? Or is stripping people of their joy in the game a fringe benefit to having those privileges? 7) Am I the only person who considers it unacceptably rude to TP to someone's location uninvited unacceptably rude? 8) Does having the special privilege badges make it acceptable to "help out the server" taking on the action of "checking up on people" because "staff are not on" WITHOUT said non-staffer having the same responsibilities and accountability of being a staff person? Someone, please help me to understand the answers to these questions. |

I rather not tp to someone uninvited as they maybe working on something they wish to keep secret until finished. There are many reasons not to tp uninvited. The sense of respect for someone's else s space should come first before they tp. Your animals can be replaced by Staff if they were killed by someone else. Donating has many perks and flight is the best to me. Its great for building large structures. If you check to see who is around you when they tp and you ask them to leave but the refuse ? Call staff and they will forcibly remove the troll for you. Donor if i am correct can not bypass faction. When you /lock a door no one can open them not even members of the same faction. I hope to see you in game and ask if you have questions any time. : ) |

A donor can bypass faction easy. They just TP to someone they want to "check up on" because "no Staff is on." And removing them isn't an issue, because "no staff is on", and they are "helping the server by making sure you are not a haxxor or doing anything wrong", so that makes it all sunshine and rainbows. |

I admit I often tp to people un-invited, but 90% of the time people are fine with it, give me a tour of their base,etc, and I would help them out or whatever. I have been asked to leave a couple of times, and when I was asked to leave I immediately leaved.I never liked being tpd to without permission, especially when they refused to leave, and the donators even started teleporting griefers into my base. Many players "act like staff" in order to prove that they have sufficient knowledge, capabilities, experience, etc, but it is not something to be offended by, or wound up by. Oak wooden doors automatically lock, however with all the new doors they do not, so you have to manually lock them by doing /lock and punching the door(s) you want protected. If the griefers have not been punished yet, I suggest you report it on the complaints forum, with screenshots of the area of grief, along with coordinates of the area. Also, I do believe that this goes in the complaints forum :D I am sorry you have had to go through this, if they don't leave when they are asked to, simply report that person. Its not rude so ask someone un-invited to leave, as long as you don't get nasty, rude, etc. Kind regards. -Wowman2002 |

The way I am responded to by most people on chat, jumping to someone's location uninvited is considered peachy-keen A-OK no problem. After all, it's just a game and nothing to get worked up over at all, and *I* am the horrible evil rude obnoxious person for daring to tell them to leave and complain about it over Chat. So I'm not clear under the server policy as it is enforced allows me to make this as a "complaint". I've already been knocked off the server for "arguing in Chat". Am I to suppose putting this in "complaints" will have me banned from the forum? Or simply conveniently ignored by people who've no respect or interest for anyone's point-of-view but their own? Especially, "I'm not a staffer, but since there isn't one on I'll take it upon myself to drop in on people uninvited to see if I can catch them being naughty!" |

You clearly must have been disrespecting someone to have been kicked from the server, arguing in-game is allowed unless it gets disrespectful so you clearly got rude at some stage. If you didn't then that person abused kick.If it was a donator he will probably get his kick removed. Who kicked you? Just ask them to leave and they will, if they don't report them. Your getting yourself worked up just because they tp to you, they don't grief, nor do they troll or raid, so whats the problem? Simply ask them to leave, NICELY. |

This has been moved to the complaints forum.I agree, donators teleporting to someone without their permission is completely unacceptable. What is even more appalling is having this player kick you: clear abuse. I have removed the teleportation and kick permissions of the person who did this to you as it was their first offence, next time it will be a demotion or ban. I don't know where you got the idea that such offences "under the current server policy" wouldn't be enforced. Some of those statements you mentioned about the staff "shrugging" off complaints and "conveniently ignoring" how you feel are just downright false. As stated, submitting a report on the forums helps us to weed out those who abuse their privileges. Please don't hesitate to submit another report in the future if you witness any other abuse, just remember to put it in the complaints forum to give it more exposure. It's concerning to see how you have presented a judgement of all the players on the server based on an experience with one unruly player. The majority of donators on the server are respectful and will only use /tp to teleport to players they know they have permission from, which is what it should only be used for. Nevertheless, I have given you the /tptoggle permission to disable/enable the allowance of people to teleport to you, for extra security. |

Thank you, I will submit a report here in the future. I have had the problem of being teleported to repeatedly, and to me it seemed the online staff were either the ones doing the /tp (player), or they were indifferent or hostile towards me for complaining about it. I didn't keep track of who's who, but as the problem is resolved I am content to simply drop it and forget the mess. |

I'm happy to drop it and not having people "check up on me"/ "just visit and say Hi"/ "Check my builds"/ "Check for skidmarks on my underwear" uninvited, "If you didn't have anything to hide you shouldn't have a problem with it." Yeeesh! If I wanted to deal with people with that attitude, I could get impersonally groped by Homeland Security at the airport a few miles down the road. I don't think anyone really wants "checking for skidmarks" attached to their name, and I'm happy to not name anyone at this point. It's resolved, at least for me. |
