I know Optifine is an acceptable mod for this server. I am currently making a crap-ton of paper for maps, but screenshotting & putting those together kinda sucks. Making a "map wall" using item frames and maps is ok, but over a certain size and it gets difficult to maintain.Are any of the map mods acceptable for use on the server, or would those be considered cheating? |

I believe that they are ok since you arnt giving yourself a unfair advantage |

I kinda need that clarified by Luigi to be sure. I think certain map modes can be considered "cheaty" because some mappers can show you the position of players & mobs, and they can show you cave and lava hazards. Damn, I think I'm talking myself out of it while answering my own question, really getting down to it. :(I would "like" to be able to use an external mapper to help with knowing chunk boundaries for reference while I am building. F3 will show that info, it is just more complicated while working on things. I would also like to plan things out on the construction. Another thing I would like to do is map an extended area for a project I have in mind at some point in the future. But I think I will simply have to figure it out with in-game tools. |
