So I've talked to quite a few people, and from what I gathered, shit has hit the fan in terms of Ownership, Donations, and player riots.Chip and I had a great talk today, and I'm trying to make this as unbiased as all hell, but it appears that Luigi no longer wants to run the server as owner. Cool, whatevs. But wait, no Luigi, no server right? Wrong. If we all agreed on something, or hell if even the staff team just agreed on this we could pass the ownership torch onto someone else. And those "someone else"'s IMO are either Chip, or Armz. Now I know what you are thinking "OMG NO WAY CHIP CAN EVER BE OWNER", or possibly "NO WAY ARMZ CAN BE OWNER!!!! HE BOUGHT IT!!!!!", and both statements are correct, but here's what I propose. A vote. If everyone agrees, I say we should vote on who to pass the torch to. I dont have screenshots, or logs, cause I got all this from minechat, but I'm trying my best to not confuse information, or be biased. Here's what I know.0 Chip: Ok so he may have started all of this, but lets be honest. Chip acted on Luigi's behalf. Ross wanted Mod, and gave Chip a pretty large price on it. Chip agreed, gave him mod, and then went over it with Luigi. Luigi agreed on it, and in turn all is well. He abuses it, he looses it. No biggie. Then someone (can't remember who) takes it away. Deems it "Unfair". Chip or Luigi returns it, and all hell breaks loose (Tom starts a boycott, everyone gets pissed, yadda yadda). Cut to today, and I'm having a small discussion with Chip over all this. He told me that the possibility of the torch being handed over is relatively high, but he is concerned over who gets it. I don't have the direct quote, but if he became owner, he would see that Ross would be demoted, and the money refunded, or put to some other donation quality. This is all I know thus far. Armz: I heard this from Chip, so take it with a grain of salt, but supposedly he "doesn't care that Chip didn't get co owner" which is dandy. The big kicker tho is that he BOUGHT Co Owner the same way Ross BOUGHT Moderator. Y'know that means he has probably the most access to all of the server, for however much he paid. Armz ususally is on to help, tho his online hours are sort of small. (Tho timezones are a problem). I also have some personal opinions to add: Chip: He and I have sort of had rough times I guess. I was not bribed, or anything stupid like that to make this post, but I believe Chip is very approachable, and friendly to talk to. Only issue being that he's usually afk (fixable if he takes on the responsibility of Ownership. I like Chip, and he does do a lot for the server. Armz: He is a great person to talk to aswell, as the calls I've been in with him have been pleasant. I feel he tries as well on the server, and is usually pretty good at helping people out from what I've seen. The only reason I'm leaning towards Chip if any is because Armz bought Co Owner. Firstly, we would need some proof or Armz buying the rank to make it believable. Else it's just word against word. Armz himself admitting this would also be okay of course. Let's say for the sake of saving time "Yes, Armz paid for his rank" We have to look into Armz' long history on the server. He's held the highest staff rank for sometime if you don't count the (excuse french) cluster fuck of a co-owner rank system we used to have. Is a donation towards helping the server for a staff rank you already pretty much have really considered "Buying a rank"? Sure he moved up to Co-Owner, but he practically already was the co-owner to begin with for the good part of two years now. In my eyes he basically just donated to help the server and that was it. Rank was just a bonus he didn't need anyway.As far as a vote goes, as any vote, it should be anonymous. Nobody should have to feel mistreated by one or the other because they had to vote out loud. Going into pros and cons now and before I do to Chip and Armz you know I love you both and appreciate what you guys do. You guys are old school players and people I can still relate to from years ago. Don't take this as hatred/disliking in any way shape or form please :) These are just my opinions I feel should be stated for something on the scale of new server owner. Arms: A genuinely nice all around guy. I don't think in my almost five years I've ever seen him "go off" on anyone or bash any players. This was even back in his non staff days. I literally joined the server two days after Armz did so I can say this with some certainty. The cons for Armz is his lack of involvement on the server. I feel like this is something he's aware of too which is fine, but of course if made owner he would have to make an effort to be more involved. Over the years I've noticed Armz to get more distant towards the players. I feel like this all plays into having been on the server for almost five years and it losing it's spark so to speak. This is all understandable and feelings anyone feels with a game, but if interested in owner he would have to improve on this. Chip: Chip is always involved when I see him online. Always talking, helping, or just friendly banter in general. If Chip is online I rarely see him AFK. He's always been good about being there when he's there. Chip is also really active just in general. Seems to me he makes a fairly sizeable effort to get on as much as he possibly can. His involvement in the forums is also a nice touch since a lot of players come here without even getting on the server daily. The major con I see with Chip is his lack of taking into consideration other player's and lower staff opinions. He seems to like to run with a "My way or the highway" attitude since being entrusted with so much power on the server. This of course can't be how a server is ran. You always must take into consideration what your players want, not JUST WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. This is also the major problem with Luigi and how he runs the server. Until an Anonymous poll is made I'll keep my vote to myself. I do feel as though both people mentioned would be great owners as long as they worked on a few little things. The community has a massive outcry for change. This has been the case for well over a year or more now. Both of you can supply that change! We need it or we too will fade into the server obscurity. |

1. Ross wanted a special rank, but chip convinced him to get trial mod instead.2. Armz' online hours aren't "small" he had over 100 hours last month. 3. Yes, armz donated for co owner and console, but chip also donated monthly for console. He didn't get co owner because that wasn't part of the deal. 4. For how chip has been acting lately, I don't think he will even want Owner. |

I think we are rushing this. Luigi hasnt announced a resignation and neither of the "candidates" have publically showed interest in the position. We all know what we know and some people have more information than others and some people have false information so even if we are going to vote it has to be a level playing field due to the impact this could have on the server. I can confirm the first 3 of ck's points but I have no public opinion on the fourth. Just wait for something official. |

I believe Armz paid for Co-Owner just because he wanted the prefix. Whilst having a conversion with him earlier this week, he showed no intentions of putting his rank to good use, which is rather upsetting. This of course was just before he said he hopes I resign. If someone is going to replace Luigi, I feel like they should actively be showing what they want to change, if anything, and how. |

Why would I show my intentions to you of all people? Believe what you want.I also doubt a prefix can change anything regarding how things are handled, how you staff etc. And yes, I said I hope you resign, privately. That's my personal opinion, because I believe you aren't good staff. Your actions and words have been upsetting to me. |

Now before I start this reponse here, I tried to stay as unbiased as possible, I askedBoth of the possible canidates the same questions and they have allowed me to use their answers in this response so I will be using their answers. DISCLAIMER: I am not gonna give my vote in public I will vote in the Link. This will probably not happens and I hope it doesn't come down to this, but if it does then everyone can see this and will know. Also I know I could've made this all summarized, but I believe it is best to copy and paste so that players do not take things out of context. First, I asked both the following question. What Would You Do If Luigi Does Resigns And Decides To Make You Owner? Chip Response: Firstly, as Owner of the server I would first like to take actions within the staff team, As the staff team is the thing that runs the server. It is a strong belief of mine that a strong staff team is a strong server; Due to this belief, it will be my duty to erase any controversy or any friction within the staff team, it should be noted/acknowledged immediately. In the past I have seen feuds between staff such as Tom and Ellie; this was whilst I was Temporary Owner. I took the correct course of action and their arguments stopped immediately. The staff board also needs more people in the EU, it is heavily U.S based at the moment which makes it difficult for EU players to get the help that they deserve. I'd love to upgrade the server, so that I can provide a server for all players. Often when we have a map reset, there is a lot of anger that we do not have creative. to avoid upset within the community, I could possibly introduce a new map which is completely survival, and keep the old map for a few months as creative. Once the few months have gone by I will introduce a new creative map for those who have donated for GMC. This way, no one is at loss of creative and those who enjoy pure survival, can do so. I plan to create a forum post, asking the community for any sized serious issue which they may have. No matter what the issue is, it will be dealt with. All the inquiries will be listed and sorted into 'most to least' important, by vote of the staff team. Command fixes will be done, such as /heal, /feed, etc. Plugin updates may also be taken into consideration, but that is highly dependent on which plugin it is and what the Pros and Cons are of updating it. I have more ideas in mind, but ultimately they are down to the community to decide. like I said earlier, I will make any changes the server would like as a whole. The server is here to serve you, for your enjoyment. I strongly believe that in respect of this, we should run the server the way that YOU want. My goal is to provide an excellent time for any player, new or old. To bring The Mushroom back to how we all loved it. I want to make this server amazing. Armz response: Well, First thing I'd do is find good Co-Owner, someone who has good knowledge of plugins and such, who knows how to set things up, maybe Larsy, since he set up a server once which was done quite professionaly. I'd then plan out how we'd go about updating plugins and such, which would happen around the same time we reset the map. I'd then redo the donator ranks, cut out some of the donor ranks etc. I'd pay a programer to fresh up the website a bit, make it more secure and such, and implement more ways to moderate the forums. I wouldn't care about having traffic. I would not change the formula of the server or anything, keep everything the same but with a face lift kind of. I would maybe try to capture the feel that the server had back when I was new to it. Also, I am not actively trying to become Owner. Second, I know Chip and Armz had a bit of a past so I decided to ask them this 1 question, but the way I ask it and put it like their own question is so no one gets confused. I asked Chip the following question. What would you do to Armz if you was made Owner? Please be as unbiased as possible Chip Response: I feel like personal issues should not be brought into how the staff team is done. If I demoted armz, not only would it be abuse but it'd be effecting the server because of separate issues. I then asked Armz the same question, but like this. What would you do to Chip if you was made Owner? Please be as unbiased as possible Armz Response: I'm not sure what I'd do to Chip. I would most likely demote him, but be open to letting him back into the staff team if he manages to calm down, take a deep breath, and change how he acts, maybe get his personal life in order first etc so that he can care about the server again, instead of using it for his own personal goals. Luigi would most likely get a special rank, not staff though, since I doubt he'd be active enough for that. Finally, I am gonna add a few of my own opinions on this matter. I would like to state that in doing this I tried to remain as unbiased as possible I asked them both the same questions as you can see, and they both gave great answers. Like I said above I am not gonna say my vote outloud because I think it is bad and I do not wish for players to be mad at me for who I chose. Now, in my opinion I do not really mind who gets Owner in this situation the replies they gave to me show me that they both care a ton about the server and would love to try to see it improved. For anyone who would vote please read my 2 questions I asked them and read their response I do hope that anyone voting would stay unbiased and not vote the other due to personal reasons. Finally, I am just gonna say this good luck to whoever gets Owner from what I can tell, the server will still be up. DISCLAIMER: This does not mean someone will get Owner this is just so luigi will be able look at this and he can then decide. I do NOT want luigi to resign, but when I asked them the questions I put my state of mind as if he was. |
