Hi everyone. Recently, I have been interested in getting a computer. Currently, I play on a laptop without a mouse, and I run about 40-50 fps on low settings. I am thinking about getting an iMac. Everyone I have asked about this always says that macs suck. I'm not really a hardcore gamer, and the only game I play is minecraft, although I am thinking about starting to play World of Warcraft. Can anyone tell me if the computer I might get would run these two games smoothly?
Here is the computer

I know absolutely nothing about computers, so any advice is help to me. Thanks!

The only thing I would say about it is intel iris graphics are not very good, but yeah to be honest it would work just for minecraft. Maybe think about getting a ssd (Solid State Drive) instead of a hard drive as its faster and less prone to failing due to age.

An iMac would run WoW and MC easily. From my experience with them if don't want viruses get a Mac. My last windows 8 machine lasted about 2 weeks until it took 10 minutes to boot up and like 25 mins to launch a program. At random times it would play noises of a kid hurting himself(???) and it was an awful experience. I have a 2013 iMac and it works great for everything that I do, which is photography, videography and light gaming. I'm no expert on computers but i think the newer Macs come with kaby lake and I completely agree eith vango, get an ssd

Thanks you guys. I noticed that you can add upgrades and one of them is a 256 GB SSD. Is it worth going from 1 TB to 256 GB, for $200 dollars more? Or should I keep the normal 1 TB and upgrade later?
I also have another question xD
How much RAM does it have? I'd like to allocate a couple of gigs to minecraft.

Please for the love of god do not get a Mac for pc gaming. If you want this for the long run, or any new games don't expect to be easily able to upgrade it. Go build a PC. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc

You could better assemble your own pc as Nic said. You don't have to buy the most expensive stuff for it, but if you ever decide to play games that take a lot from your pc, it's easier to upgrade from your own assembled pc than from an iMac.

To put it in perspective, my built PC that I paid $500 for can do double what that IMac says it will. Intel HD Graphics are deal.

Although PC's are clearly better at gaming Macs are much better for productivity. If your planning on getting a mac, the new ones are SOMEWHAT upgradable, its just more difficult than a pc because you have to take the display off.

Like Nic said, I would build your own PC. It's so much cheaper and easier to upgrade than a pre-built one. I (with the help of ACe) built mine for about $1000 (That's including a 27" monitor, a decent gaming mouse and a decent gaming keyboard.) and it runs almost any game at high settings. I run MC at 600-1200 fps on max settings without optifine. With Optifine I get up to 2000 fps.

Also to answer about the RAM. That Mac has 8GB. That's the same as my PC, which is fine for gaming.

What do you mean by productivity Jordo? I have 3 monitors and I feel pretty productive using it during the school year. You're basically either paying for the name, or interchangable parts, unlimited customability, and more importantly, have you ever noticed that some games require a Mac version? I mean it's the same with Linux but Windows on a custom built PC is the way to go.
