Have you been banned from any other servers? - I've only ever been banned from one server; however, it was for disagreeing with a member of staff who was abusing their permissions/powers. Why do you think you should be a moderator? - I have some experience running a small Minecraft server so some of the knowledge is transferable. I have noticed that a lot of players struggle with finding food early on; so I've already made a small community farm by spawn to assist with this; however, it is constantly being raided. Whilst being on the server I have witnessed multiple times people using racial slurs and unnecessary language whilst spamming the chat; if successful in my application, I'd like to be able to prevent this or stop it whenever it happens. A project that I would like to undertake on the server is to revamp the spawn area; make it look a bit nicer; possibly make a walled perimeter of where the spawn could be in, where people can make their shops. I'd especially like to make it more visually appealing and more functional to newer players. How long can you be active on the server every day? Throughout the day I would be off and on the server checking how things are going; on a weekday I would easily spend over four hours of the server; on a weekend that would be closer to eight hours. What country do you live in? - I live in the United Kingdom - England. How long have you been on the server? - Honestly, I've not been on the server that long; only since the server was updated to Minecraft version 1.13. But with the vacant Admin and Moderator position, I thought I may as well apply. Honestly, I'm not looking to become a high ranking member of staff; if I was able to build around the spawn and decorate it a bit more without it getting griefed I would be happy; but, where and when possible I would like to assist in the day to day server activities. You haven't experienced the community of the server as long is I or other veterans of around 4 years. Maybe try in a few months and I'll consider +1ing.

You making a farm for struggling players does not mean shite. As a staff member, your job is not to make sure players can survive. Its to uphold the server's rules and act as a representative of the community that you do not yet know. Building farms to help players is completely irrelevant to the role that you wish to fulfill. Whilst being on the server I have witnessed multiple times people using racial slurs and unnecessary language whilst spamming the chat; if successful in my application, I'd like to be able to prevent this or stop it whenever it happens. My greatest fear with this is that you'll go too far. One of the key components this server used in order to revive its playerbase was the unbanning of previously "toxic" players. I'm afraid that if you become mod, you'll become too harsh on them, and be too ban-lenient. I'd especially like to make it more visually appealing and more functional to newer players. Unlike what you previously stated, this actually has substenance. You are not helping individual players, but you want to help the overall community, by having a sector dedicated to shops and visual appeal. Don't get me wrong, this mod app is way better than most mod apps. The only problem with this is your current time on the server. You have not spent enough time to familiarize yourself with some of the more subtle aspects of the server, such as the forums, or the discord chat. You need to become more active on the forums (get at least 50 posts before you even have me consider +1ing you), and you need to also talk more in chat. You've openly admitted that you do not talk too much, something that is a serious drawback to you. A good staff member is always vocal. I do partly agree with what Wones is saying - a large majority of this app is you talking about the specific achievements you've accomplished while on the server. These accomplishments do not mean shite. They're nothing. Do not expect that, just because you're a good builder, that you'll be able to achieve mod, because that's not what being staff is about. It is, as Wones said, quite superficial. I need to personally get to know you more to draw a specific conclusion from you, but for now, I'm going with a -1

By superficial, I mean that your application sounds only good on the surface. You used two sentences talking about how you'd be able to stop racism. It's just /mute, it's not difficult.

However, I believe that by providing the community with something small to assist them early on it enables you to create a positive rapport with them; as a result, if it so happens that you then need to resolve an issue surrounding them they may be more susceptible to seeing your side of view and stopping. The better your rapport with the community of the server, the less likely it should be that you will find problems with them. When it comes to the racial slurs and curses, I wouldn't approach this aggressively with my first thought to ban whoever it is in question. I would opt for the calmer approach by asking them to stop, then give them a warning. If they continue I would mute them for a period of time. If stopping racism is so simple as to just mute players, why is it that in the occurrences that I have witnessed, whilst staff have been online players have managed to spam the entire chat whilst bickering between themselves without any of the staff even attempting to resolve the issue? I don't want to limit peoples right to free speech, however, a good idea may be to blacklist certain words, so players cant type them in chat. - Opinions? I would rarely ever ban anyone, the closest I would get is a temp ban; however that would only if other staff members agree with the sentence. I don't want to offend and this may just be me being picky. But, I never stated anything about my building ability; it's almost as if your putting words in my mouth so that you can then use them as a point against me. It is clear now that this is definitely not the correct place on the forum for me to offer my service when it comes to the development, functionality, and aesthetic of the server. If someone would be so kind as to prompt me to a place on the forum where my opinions and ideas to improve the server may be better suited; I would greatly appreciate it.

If you want a place on the forums to offer your service, then maybe you should open your eyes and go to another section.
wones9	Date sent: 2018/07/25 02:34:52 Unfortunately, we don't have an active builder rank on the server, however this shouldn't in any way prevent you from building things for the community. If you want to make the spawn more aesthicslly pleasing, shoot your ideas to the owner. If you want to build a cluster of shops, there isn't anything stopping you. You don't need a rank to do these things. We definitely would support if you made an effort to improve the overall rapport for our players and doing things like that would gradually build yourself a resume and you would be a more attractive candidate for the moderator position. However, at this time, I don't think you would make a good one. Saying you would rarely ban anyone shows me you would just be trying to keep a good reputation rather than actually help the community. We don't want someone who is going to let everyone off scot-free and we also don't want someone ban happy. We want someone to be fair and balanced and do the right thing while fostering an enjoyable atmosphere. You seem to be trying to tell us what we want to hear rather than what you actually think, that's a big turn off for me.

Regardless of whether or not it is superficial, it seems thought out and has some time to it, further proven by wones and galbby, who tend to uh...absolutely annihilate apps with no effort. They made constructive criticisms this time (thank you to the both of you btw) in response to your thought out replies, which you took the time to write out instead of brushing them off with "lol" (something which even I am guilty of sometimes.) However, in this case I must agree with them that you are simply too new to the server. Some players have quite literally waited YEARS to get staff, and some never do. If this app is a genuine one, then I suggest waiting- Leave this app open for further comments from the community, but in the meantime dont expect it soon, instead take some time to play, to learn the server and its people. As people come to know you, and understand that you dont intend to be here for 2 weeks and then quit, or arent applying just for the power of the position, they will accept you. Thanks for the application! Wones, Galbby, props to you for your arguments here, which you made clearly and thoughtfully, without you know....crushing the guys soul lol

Wanna make a community farm with a public warp? go for it! Spawn? Message me the plan, and while theres no guarantee your build will become spawn, it never hurts to make something cool looking even if it doesnt become a spawn build like you intended.

I might apply later down the road, who knows; but for now, I'm gonna follow all yall advice and just play for a bit and do the odd bit to help here and there.

A lot of what you put in your "Why do you want to be mod?" section could be done without staff, I'd like to see you edit in some more info there if possible. There's also the fact of how new you are to the server, I personally don't like promoting players to mod until they've played for at the very least half a year, but exceptions aren't unheard of. Take some time to get used to our server and meet the players. You'll find that a lot of what we do is different from other servers. I would give you a plus one, but because of how new you are I'm going to have to give you an Abstain. I hope to see you continue your efforts!
