So far, its 15 votes against resseting the map and 9 in the favour of resseting it. Most of the votes are from donators with gamemode, so they don't mind as much as they don't have to worry about collecting all the items needed, etc, they can just jump straight in. Reasons we should vote against the map reset. 1. The people who vote yes say: " The spawn is awful because of grief " In my opinion, the outskirts of the spawn should never have been built on anyway. It's a quick job to roll it back or just completely remove it. If granted the honor, I will do it in the space of an hour. 2. Work. We all have worked hard for our wealth, homes, villages, towns, cities, so why should it be taken away from us? 3. It's basically griefing. Over 100 people have been banned for griefing, most for under 100 blocks. If the map is reset, your not griefing 100 blocks, your griefing thousands, its peoples property that they want to keep. If there will be a map reset, all those banned for raiding and griefing should be unbanned minorly should be unbanned. 4. Think of others. In my opinion, the donators with GMC are selfish to vote Yes, as they are simply doing it for themselves without thinking of others. Now every single donor will go against me and rage at me but the truth is such. Donators, if you haven't voted yet, why don't you think about the players in survival, instead of just yourself? Think about everyone. |

I play purely in survival when I do play. All my base is survival and everything I own is from survival. Despite having Donator+ status during it all.Also to fix grief at spawn is simple. We make a new spawn and start over. Or we could just destroy everything around spawn and make beautiful structures instead protected with safezone. I dunno why everyone thinks the map will be reset, as it would be pointless and cause chaos to the server. |

One of the main arguments for the map reset is "The spawn is awful because of grief" but I don't think you've quite interpreted it properly.At the beginning of each new map, a spawn town forms around the spawn area. As time goes on and the spawn town gets bigger, it's harder for new players to build in it because they have to travel further to get to the outskirts. So instead more people build houses detached from the town or start their own towns. As time goes on, buildings in the town get abandoned as people stop playing on the server or unclaimed and griefed as factions are disbanded. New plots on the outskirts are also griefed as the quality of the town degrades which further discourages people from building there and instead move further away from each other in different towns or with detached houses. It's much harder to create a new spawn town in old maps as people already have their own established houses. A map reset would rekindle that community spirit by bringing everyone closer together as equals. There would be a sense of renewal as all the resources in the world are replenished and so too would the players undergo a degree of catharsis and regeneration within themselves by starting fresh, anew. |

Here is a compromise. Many people have been requesting a second world so why don't you make a whole new world and leave the original one alone. No complaints about griefed spawn, no over-populated 1st world and maby you might even be able to install the plugin that teleports people to a random place in the world. All the builds are safe and no complaints. I just finished alot of builds and i would hate for the map to be reset as they took a while to make as they are very large and a couple small. |

There is a program called "schematica" which allows you to create a schematic file in game, and then place it anywhere else in minecraft. It auto-builds itself, but oyu need the materials to do it in your inventory. For people with GMC, you won't need items. It is lag-free and client sided.That fixes the problem, mostly. (Negative side is that you need to get all the materials again if you're a citizen) |
