Hello,So I just found out that the server hasn't been restarted in over two weeks, which is absolutely ridiculous, especially when you take into account we have been waiting for a restart to fix spawners. But I have a solution, weekly restarts. This is fairly easy to set up, I was able to set it up on my server in 5 minutes, so it surely isn't too difficult. It would be easy to have happen Tuesday at midnight or whatever, so it wouldn't effect too many people. And would help prevent lag and issues like the broken spawners from lasting 2+ weeks. +1 Would be nice with the viewpoints from those who oppose this. If no one opposes it and have good arguments as to why we shouldn't implement this, then it should be definately looked into. |

Every time the server restarts 1/2 to 1/3 of the players online don't join back, so if done on a regular basis this would kill the server. The server should remain up for as long as possible and only be deliberately restarted if it's absolutely necessary or urgent. Another reason scheduled restarts would be bad is because a lot of times restarts are due to unexpected crashes, which when combined with deliberate restarts mean the server would be restarted too often. |

Do broken spawners count as sufficient cause to deliberately restart the server? It's a major part of this server that's utterly broken and can be easily fixed, and has been able to be fixed for quite some time. From this thread I'm guessing it'll be a while before it's fixed though so could someone leave a reply when the server restarts? I'll be back when that happens but I'm taking a break from the server for now. |

Reboots only take a few seconds, and if u have a 5 or 10 minute countdown messages everyone is prepared and knows when it is happening. Basically all others i have played on have a reboot daily, everyone knows when its coming and can get to safety and then relog on in about 10 seconds after reboot. Its usually a race to see who can log on first. Once a week is nothing, if people are bitching about not being able to afk for 1 night a week then thats on them. The spawner problem at moment is keeping people away. |

The reason they don't join back is because half the server is afk at a farm. It'll do them some good to be more active without afking. |

That's probably because most of them are afk at spawners or fishing machines when it happens, Weegee. Almost every other server I've been on have planned weekly or even daily restarts. I don't see how the server will die if an afk person doesn't come back within 5 minutes, it's not like they leave forever because of it.+1 |
