I have a few ideas that could really enhance the server website if implemented. Please let me know what you guys think about each! (I know it’s hard to do +1 or -1 when there’s more than one idea, so just say what you like and don’t like)1. Server Map/Dynmap This is a plugin that can be added, which creates an online map revealing the geography/topography of the server along with the locations of each individual player. Players can choose to become invisible on the map if they don’t want their location known at all times. It is very customizable, and I believe factions can be made visible as well. This could be a fun and helpful addition which would help players locate other players, areas, biomes, etc. and give the server a “Game of Thrones” feel :P http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1286593-dynmap-dynamic-web-based-maps-for-minecraft 2. Player List It would be nice to have the list of players currently online constantly displaying on the website. That way, anyone could check if their friends are online before even joining the server. 3. Explanatory Pages When I first joined the server, I found it very difficult to gain any info about it. For example, I didn’t understand how vote tokens worked, what donor perks existed, server faction rules, etc. I had to ask around the server and learned of several warps, each leading to different areas where signs explained details to me. If there were pages on the website with the faction rules, rank information, and any other general information that should be known, this could help newcomers feel more confident that they understand how the server functions, and could eliminate confusion which may result in arguments or bans. I think a dynmap would be really cool. I've played on servers with them and they definitely make the server cooler. I don't know how to explain it though you would have to experience it. |
