The server should be converted from Spigot to Bukkit, it's really easy to do; and spigot is just a optimised craftbukkit
"Bukkit is an API, plugins use the API to do things on your server
CraftBukkit is combination of the Minecraft server software with Bukkit added in (oversimplified)
Spigot is another layer on top of CraftBukkit which adds a few new features and performance enhancements"
But the enhancements of spigot cause spawn rates of all mobs and complex farms to break. Which makes building farms on the server very difficult because what would usually be great rates is hugely reduced to shit. So all of the servers farms that involve mobs are basically stuck to using spawners for good rates. So if someone builds a big farm expecting great rates as it should be producing normally you get stuck with crap; My brother and I built tangos Iron Phoenix only to find out it doesn't work on spigot. So i'm proposing an idea and easy fix for anyone who has this issue:
Provide spawners to players who build large complex farms and compensate the lack of rates with spawners for the farm.
Or possibly just change the server from Spigot to Bukkit.
Building large farms should come with some form of reward.
All plugins for spigot work on Bukkit.

Give free stuff to people who make big builds.

Not really free stuff if you build a farm for it.

The server used to use Craftbukkit until they discontinued development of it in August 2014. See this thread: https://bukkit.org/threads/bukkit-its-time-to-say.305106/.
The only reason we still have Bukkit to this day is because the Spigot development team decided to continue development of it independently, and eventually they released Bukkit (on Spigot) for 1.8, and all versions after that have come from them.

Notwithstanding this, why wouldn't we want to have a more optimised server that has less lag for everyone? I don't know where you got the idea that spigot reduced spawning rates since I don't think that's the case, there's nothing in the spigot configuration about spawn rates which there would be if they had been changed by spigot, in order for people to retain vanilla behaviour but still keep all the other optimisations spigot does.

99% sure that spigot does reduce spawns of mobs:
https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/spigot-mob-spawning-not-enough-of-them.2254/
https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/173917/how-to-get-normal-spawning-behavior-after-installing-spigot-bukkit
There's 2 quick threads I found that say it.
I wasn't 100% sure when I mentioned it here I was only speaking from experience, but it has a pretty drastic affect on the spawn rates of naturally spawning mobs. As for iron farms though Spigot changes the way villages are made and it makes them merge when the villages are really close and some other stuff. But for slime farms etc it's due to the spawn rates reduction from spigot.
And yes everyone likes performance but you give up a whole lot for what it really is & it's probably not really needed since we have a world border anyways unless the server is a potato.
PS> Second link is the better one to look at. Though an old article it could still apply.

Does this now go to Loki? Or does luigi still manage the server?

Interesting
Thank you, I will think.
Guys, do you know anything about HyperC.com? How do you like them?
There are software products that were created really to make a profit, but their work is effective in a completely different segment. I am interested in business software. When software and services are installed they make a profit for the company that uses them. Any ideas?
