I think this is way too harsh. Names hardly constitute personal information since they're usually not unique. And I agree with LivLan, if people make their real name so easy to find on the internet, they shouldn't complain when someone finds it out. |

same with their pic, if they post it on multiple platforms for EVERYONE to see, it shouldnt be the persons fault for resurfacing it. using their first name isn't bad, since its just familiarly acknowledging them. |

You guys act like names are just some words. Spreading around someones name, especially on the internet, can ruin their life. Knowing someones name, you can figure someones phone number, address, ect. Its a big deal |

Actually you can't figure out someone's phone number or address from their name unless they have also published those details themselves somewhere online and linked it to their name. There could also be hundreds of people with the same name. |

I'm standing with Luigi on this one.A name hardly classifies as personal information. you can not get anything from knowing someone's name is Jessica or something. Plus, like Luigi said you shouldn't be shocked when someone finds out your name if you have posted it somewhere yourself. Doxing only comes into play if you reveal actual personal information, such as addresses, numbers, work placement, education, photos. A name is extremely rarely personal. thousands, if not millions of people can share the same name. Let me give an example: My name is now Muhammad. what can you learn about me from knowing that? Exactly... you can't get anything. This new rule you say... there is no leniency? so what if my friend who i met here tells me their age, but doesn't say i cant tell anyone else. i go off and later that week i mention it to my other friend in a conversation. you're telling me i'd get perm banned? This new rule / policy is ridiculous, it was not properly discussed. it also appears that a few very important and influencing staff, including myself and Luigi, did not get a say in this. Personally i can say i do not support this rule and i will not be enforcing it myself. If i did enforce it, half of the playerbase and staff team would have to be perm banned. |

If you are so worried about your IP giving away your location, you should either change it, or never use the internet at home ever again. It's super easy to get ahold of someone's IP. |

lmao, no you can't leak someones information from their IP. I'll personally fry my socks and eat them if someone finds my adress and full name just from my IP adress.
