Last night, at around 8:45 PST, I made a post in the general section outlining what I believed to be the most direct way of fixing this server. Later, around 9:00 PM PST, Lego1master1, a well-known active player on this server, went onto the mush discord, and argued with me for about thirty minutes. I don't want to copy and paste the entire argument so here are some snippets of it:You can't ask for staff demotion unless you used to average 7 hours at least imo -Lego regarding my allegations against staff members for their inactivity in my post (1) Probs had a reason, don't you think -Lego regarding Barry's 20+ day inactivity (2) I was offline for a month because I was dealing with a lot of hardships -Lego regarding his previous inactivity not long ago (3) Galb-Today at 8:56 PM well im online online for 2h/ day cuz i have sat prep unlike you lego1master1-Today at 8:56 PM lao funny you assume that Brick Wall-Today at 8:56 PM Lego i disagree completely with a lot of what is going on inclding your specification that anyone who reaches 7 hours a day has a right to ask for staff demotion catering to specifically what youve met in the past lego1master1-Today at 8:56 PM Loki I don't mean specifically but whatever I do agree that the server is dying But then again when has it not been (4) If u honestly care enough about the server you play on it even when it is dying -Lego on how players who care about the server should play on it (5) I like it the way it is -Lego on the current state of the server (6) The server was so chill before the modern throw lol -Lego on the current state of the server (7) lego1master1-Today at 9:00 PM But I was saying If you are gonna criticize for inactivity Galb-Today at 9:01 PM be active myself? lego1master1-Today at 9:01 PM Make sure ur active enough to be in that position (8) Everything Italicized was what Lego said. Now lets go through them one by one. In quotes 1, 5, and 8, Lego pretty much directly states that if one were to ask for a demotion of staff, then they should be online for at least 7 hours/day. That is such an abnormally high activity rate, that I find it hard to see where you made that conclusion in the first place. CCShad, our finest staff at the current moment, has only hit 7+ hours 3 days in the last 30 days. Not only that, but you're making the claim that I'm an inactive player, which, on the minecraft server I may be, but in the community, I'm certainly not. In quote 2, Lego states that Barry was offline for 20+ days because he had a reason for it. That is completely and utterly false. I spoke to Loki online this one time, and he specifically stated that, if there were more apt moderator canidates out there, then he would demote Barry and replace him. Four quotes down. In quote 3, you defend your previous inactivity by saying that you were dealing with hardships. Guess what? Everyone is dealing with hardships. I'm dealing with hardships. Loki is dealing with hardships. Even ellie is dealing with hardships right now apparently. If you're going to demand a proper response to my inactivity, and have a bad response such as that for yourself, then don't even make the argument in the first place. In quote 4, I have alot of things to address. First of all, yes I do make the assumption that you aren't taking SAT prep, because you're a seventh grader (who also apparently took an AP calc test without knowing what limits were). Second off, I don't understand what he says after Loki's statement. Point is, he says that the server has always been dying. Quote 6 and quote 7 contradict each other. Lego says that he likes the way the server operates, then goes on to say that the server has sucked "ever since the modern throw" (don't know what that means). Lego, you're wrong. Every sentence you've spoken in that discord chat was wrong. You accuse me of being inactive, which may be true in regards to the server, but is completely false in the long run. You seem to be under the impression that one's care of the server is directly proportional to how much time you spend on it, which may be true for certain people, but for those who actually have stuff to do, such as me, we don't have the time to spend on the server itself. In fact, I find it awfully ironic that you say that I have no right to ask for a staff demotion, when you, the "active player", have no opinions whatsoever. How do I prove this? Quote 6 contradicts so many other quotes that you said, and only proves that you have no opinions. You say that the server has always been dead, then you say that the server is perfectly fine. Make up your mind. If you're going to call yourself an active player, at least be active when it comes to the community. Yesterday, me, Pres, Pr1tce, and MaxBass were having an hour-long discussion online about how to improve the server. Yes, it was ONLINE. Did you contribute anything? No. You were silent the entire time. I may not get on as much as you, but when I do, I actually try to figure stuff out. Every single day, I spend 5 hours sitting in a sweaty classroom memorizing vocab words and going over stupid SAT prep material. When I get home, I want to chill, for a very good reason. But even so, I still take the time and effort to write out posts and place them on the forums so that eventually, somebody might see them and realize that they are good suggestions, and implement them. You, on the other hand, have yet to suggest anything, despite your 7 hours/day activity rate. Call me self centered, call me egotistical, but in the long run, people like you won't do anything, and people who have opinions will get stuff done. I don't include it in the snippets, but lego did eventually ask me in the discord chat, "why do you always think that you're correct?" I think that I'm always correct because I am always correct, and I'm actually capable of believing that. Pick out any sentence I spoke in that discord chat, and throw it at me. I will defend it and prove you wrong. (Yes, loki. ur wrong when u said that i was wrong). There have only been two times in which someone has proven me wrong, the first being a year ago, and the other being last month. Normally, I wouldn't make this huge rant just from an argument, but what really pissed me off is when Lego said that anyone who wanted a staff demotion should be active. "Activity" is a completely subjective term. It can mean two different things. It can refer to how much you spend on the server, and it can mean how much you actually want it to improve. I understand your point, but this seems like it was a private conversation that did not need to be plastered on the forums. Even if it was on the public discord, it seems like the conversation was just between you two. Chip on the other hand has been inactive for ages and it's not a private matter at all, with him having console, it agitated the entire (or at least a lot of) the community. Lego seems like they were just trying to talk to you one on one. |

I think the latter is more important. I'm addressing a larger issue here. And apart from that, lego really pissed me off with that one comment. Like, seriously pissed me off. I don't care if it was a private conversation. If I want to post something on the forums, I will do it. |
