Ok been a bit since an official announcement, but this is regarding a discussion amongst all the staff a couple days ago.

Reminder for those who dont know what the 30% rule is: People who have GMC must sell items in their shops for 30% above the average prices.
The reason for this is to A. prevent GMC items from entering the economy and B. prevent a couple architects from hoarding up a bunch of money they will never use. The thinking behind this is that Architects have creative, and bought it because they use that creative regularly, and thus have no reason to have or use ingame money other than to say they have it (greed, in other words)

However, we came to the decision that this was not entirely true. Some players, such as kalakene, or gilg had he accepted the rank, received gmc for free, as a reward for their skills. But, many such players dont actually use their gmc, they simply have it to show they earned it. So why then should these outstanding players be punished for their skill, by rendering the shops they use to fund their survival only projects useless, by way of forcing their prices to be too high? Doesnt seem fair.

The adjustment then, is that Staff can hold a vote for players who earned their gmc as a reward, to determine if they can bypass the 30% rule in their shops. If they are allowed, they will be required, with staff witnesses, to delete all of their GMC items.(Which if they have been still in gms this whole time, they shouldnt have that many, if any at all.)

Similarly, some staff who were nondonors or lower tier ones, received their gmc for free as well, as it makes staff matters considerably easier to handle. They also have their shop prices forcibly raised. So they (such as tamn or max, for example) Will be eligible to have a vote token amongst the other staff, excluding themselves, to determine whether they can bypass the rule. I myself will not be eligible, as I purchased my GMC some time ago, and have very few survival items left. The same is true for quite a few other staff.

If you have any further questions, please ask them here, or ask me in the discord. Thank you.

Tax the archs and use the money to build a wall to keep the defaults out

This is stupid and here's why:
-We can only find the lowest prices (with /buy), not the average prices.
-Donators shouldn't be punished either.
-Even if we found the "average price," what's stopping some asshole from listing their stuff at some crazy rate like $5,000,000 / carrot, and sharply increasing the average price?

I think this could just be me, but while being Architect, I use the money I get from my shop to pay players to help me on projects. With Frostville expanding, I tend to recruit others to assist me, and reward them with money, since I can't give out GMC items.

tbh i dont really think the rule is necessary for archs, as i dont think any archs will abuse their creative to sell stuff for money to buy literally fucking nothing.
