The new tax system, being designed quickly and not given enough thought, is dreadfully inconvenient at best, and fatally flawed at worst. The taxing system has been poorly designed, favouring players that are incredibly wealthy, yet ignoring those that are in the middle class. Luva and myself tested the taxing system on the server, and we believe that some tweaks are in order to improve it. We have some suggestions that would possibly improve the system and make it fairer on your player base.In a controlled experement Luva and Myself discovered that the sales tax is linear adding 20 cents per dollar. We concluded that the product is not taken into account by the system, only the price per quantity of that item being sold. We, the players, have some suggestions that might be worth taking into account to balance the system and make it more fair for the average player. This tax system brings up a problem when dealing with prices over $500 with taxes adding hundreds of dollars to the cost. For this reason, we suggest that there should be a tax cap in place, stopping taxes from going too high on a single purchase. For example, if we were to cap taxes at 100 pounds, buying something that would amount to the tax being any higher than 100 wouldn't make you pay more for it. This would help the cost of Elytras Tridents and Shulkers which already are Rare Expensive Items that usually sell for thousands of dollars. Given the current system half a thousand dollars in tax would be added to the item. Even though the tax could be calculated, stopping tax at 100 pounds would give you a predictable amount that you are going to pay. We suggest that taxes be removed from low value items. Dirt is dirt cheap, and so is cobblestone, stone, granite, diorite, andecite, netherack, some types of woods, kelp, endstone, and more! The point is, nobody is going to pay taxes for natural resources if they can get them themselves. Dirt, cobble, and other junk blocks don't sell very good normally, taxes will discourage potential buyers. We suggest to move down the 0.2 per pound rate to something more reasonable. Imagine you walk into a store and get a $1 item. You get to the checkout and tax marks it up at 120% of the price you saw. Sure its just two dimes, but it's 1/5th of a dollar. Imagine the same thing except this time it's priced as $10. The whole cost is two dollars more. This is a bit outragious and should be changed to benifit the poorer members on the server. We suggest taxes on banknotes be decreased reasonably, and payed solely by the withdrawee. The current banknotes are never used or heard about because if taking money out of a bank taxed you 5% per dollar, you'd always keep all your money in the bank. Imagine giving money to your friend to keep safe for you. One day you ask your friend to give you back $10 and just for that he takes 50 cents of your money for your withdrawl. I know luigi taxes withdrawls to prevent cheating in banknotes but someone with enough time can just do it anyway with small notes and pay next to nothing. Keep the feature cheap enough for people to use, and they will use it. I'd say a set limit around 0.01 to 0.05 pounds for any withdrawl is good. Removing the tax entirely has been suggested for the longest time, but if you paid 1 cent per banknote, we're pretty sure people would use the feature more. We think banknotes less than the 10 pound limit would be a nice addition as well, but only if taxes are lessened. This was co-written with Luva so many thanks! |

OR, we can not have taxes at all because they don't help in the slightest |

Apparently the main reasoning behind the sales tax was to cause inflation by removing money from the economy. The problem with this is that voting adds at least $2,500 back into the economy daily, which would take $12,500 of purchases to balance out with the sales tax. Add on that the tax discourages purchases, and the whole thing becomes redundant. |

If I had to improve it, I'd reduce the amount given for voting (or at least make it scale to bal; e.g. if you have $0 you get $250, if you have $75 you get $200, ect ect) and make the sales tax incremental based on bal, so the richest players are taxed the most at an incremental rate. |

I think taxes need to actually have a meaning on the server. Right now, tax is completly useless and money is just inserted into the server account, and it sits there until the map resets. Its just a waste of peoples funds tbh. I think the server needs to use this tax system in the right way, rather than just wasting money. Instead of having the money just sit in an accout until the server resets, I think staff and the community need to develop ways as to how this tax money can be used.I suggest we use the money to fund server events, projects and buildings by players, for players. The olympics this year were totally self funded by spacebois this year and i think it is disgraceful. spacebois recieved little to no staff or server financal and physical support and money could of easily been donated to use for the creation of events and prizes for the olympics. My metro system designed to transport players without fly around spawn much faster, recieved little to no financial support from the server, and other members of the server donated there own time and money to help create stations and tunnels. This money could've been used to make the server a better place and, instead it was wasted. I think this creates a bad mark on the server and is one of the reasons why the server is receving less and less new players. I think we really need to improve this. |

And if staff arnet going to do anything about it, I think us as players on this server, the ones mostly impacted, need to do something about it. |
