Sales tax was added by Luigi after he put 1 potty break's worth of thinking into how he could fix our economy. He ended up adding a heavty tax that parasites off of the people who contribute to a healthy economy, and fails to recirculate the money taken. As I see it, the idea wasn't just bad in practise, but bad as a concept as well.Furthermore, I think we should exclude luigiofthebakery from any tampering with the economy. |

Taxes have just killed all shop sales, there are other more sustainable methods that we can use.+1 |

-1, If you were to remove sales tax, you would have to remove the money you get from voting. Voting would inflate the economy if there wasnt a drain on it like with sales tax. |

Copper... the taxes were added to inflate prices...higher shop prices was the whole point Not to mention the economy already had "drains" such as admin shops (like the spawn eggs at /warp shop), and head sales (which has rocketed up since the armour stand datapack was added). Even then, inflation isn't always bad. A healthy economy is about % currency flow rate, and inflation/deflation is irrelevant until it directly affects the % currency flow rate. |

+1 I agree that the taxes are stupid. There's no reason to have a tax in Minecraft. It helps nothing, it makes nothing better, it just takes away from us with less (currency). |

That'd fix half the problem. Taking money from buyers discourages them from buying, which slows down the rate of trade. Some governments refuse to use sales tax because they know of the burden it puts on the economy. Even if the money is cycled back into the economy, it has still done its damage. |

Sorry, I didn't realize how closed-minded I was being in this post, and I should have considered Luigi knew what he was doing.I'd like to apologize to Luigi, as I just learned the reason he's trying to ruin the economy is to make the server feel more 20's economy crash era themed. It's actually a really creative idea, and I applaud you for that. |

Having the seller pay the tax does sound better. That would encourage people to research prices before just throwing together a shop. |
